This makes print-on-demand at competitive rates a much more attractive option.” Working for and with the industry FastEditor’s SaaS solutions were developed in close collaboration with industry players. According to Molenaar, there was no other way: “We first developed the strong visualization software. That’s when the idea arose to solve the process-related issues on the back end as well. That meant we needed to unlock a product catalog containing products from suppliers — and ensure that uploaded files could be shown on all those products in a way that reflects what the final result would actually look like. Initially, all of that only existed in our heads — and we had to figure out whether it was technically feasible. At the same time, we wanted to take into account the needs and wishes of end users, those of distributors, and those of suppliers. And then see which technology had to be built in to arrive at the best possible tool for real-world use. In collaboration with test partners, we analyzed a lot of data, came up with solutions, designed software and tested it all. With the help of extensive input and feedback from the industry, we ultimately created a unique product that truly delivers solutions.” Suppliers and distributors FastEditor has now integrated the products of the most major European suppliers into its software (see frame). Molenaar explains: “The next step is to add more specialized companies that offer products outside the focus of the market leaders. In addition, we’re now turning our attention to the distributor side. We’re currently in the final phase of integrating with Promidata. Once that’s completed, up to 300 webshops connected to their platform will gain access to our editor. There are also several dozen other distributors with whom integration is already in place or underway. Smaller players can use the Logo Editor for €100 to €300 per month. This gives them access to approximately 100,000 printable products in the catalog, along with the core functionalities of the tool. Mid-sized businesses pay more but get plenty of added value. They can, for example, display the editor in their own branding, add their own products, and use a cross-sell module that promotes additional items to end customers. There’s also a subscription for businesses that are completely new to e-commerce in the promotional products area and want help with setup and management. These users pay the most for a full-service subscription, but in return they receive comprehensive support — from website setup to the printing of ordered products through the editor. The subscription plans for the Photo Editor are similar and slightly more expensive, with the exception of the full-service tier.
