Because, how else does a Dutch company enter into an F1 team? Well, just like that — by phone. One day, the sports marketing agency of MoneyGram Haas F1 called Tricorp to ask if they were interested in sponsorship. “Uh… yes!” Was it a coincidence? Pure luck? Max doesn’t think so: “In fact, we’ve been working towards this for years. When you have a crystal-clear vision and core values — and live by them every day — things eventually fall into place. That’s the pole position we’re in at this moment. From here, it’s a matter of accelerating.” That sounds promising, but let’s start at the beginning. How long does Tricorp exist now? At this moment Tricorp Workwear has been active for over 31 years. In the past, people looked at workwear very functionally: loose fits and not very stylish. LOOK LIKE A TEAM, WORK LIKE A TEAM TRICORP WORKWEAR groups of professionals with high-quality apparel that stays good-looking for a long time. What do you mean by large groups of professionals? All the employees working within a company. That includes all types of roles within a company, but also different fittings. Think firm, tall, slim, petite, men and women. If you want to dress everyone properly, standard sizes won’t cut it. We believe it’s our job to ensure every professional looks neat and feels comfortable, can move safely, and feels proud in their clothing. That’s why we offer our range in sizes from XS to 8XL, including various lengths. You can even see it reflected in our showroom — we even have special curved mannequins. What does your product range look like today? Companies can come to us for workwear and safety clothing. We have a wide range of casual clothing, a specific collection with workwear for construction, industry, and logistics, and within our Safety package, you’ll find high-visibility safety clothing for example for traffic controllers, construction workers, and road workers. Besides that, we also offer Multi-norm clothing for professionals in chemical industries, also for example for welders and mechanics. This clothing meets standards like heat resistance, antistatic, and flame retardancy. Then there's our Premium line with fashion-oriented clothing, and a corporate line for office staff, drivers, receptionists, and so on, with shirts and blouses. Our new workwear collection ‘REDEFINED’ represents the future. It’s a full clothing line we’re launching into the market to position workwear even more as fashionable and sustainable, helping companies achieve a unified appearance. What does that entail? That's right. We got the question: "We want our own custom company clothing, is that possible?" Since then, we’ve also been producing custom-made workwear. In fact, we’ve built an entire team around it. The clothing design, the fitting process, production, delivery, administration — we handle everything from A to Z. A great example is the clothing we designed for Coolblue, and of course for the MoneyGram Haas Formula 1 team. Please tell… How did that come about? It’s a great story. At Tricorp, we’re crazy about sports and we also see entrepreneurship as a sport, which is why we do a lot of sponsorships. For example, we’re the main sponsor of the Tilburg Trappers ice hockey team, which competes at a high level in Germany. Coincidentally (or maybe not?), the sports manager of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, a big ice hockey fan, was watching a Tilburg Trappers match in Germany. At that moment, he was looking for a new clothing supplier. In the stadium, he saw Tricorp clothing and sponsor boards everywhere. So what did he do? He googled “Tricorp” and discovered that we’d already been active in motorsports for years, including Formula E, 2, and 3. The next day, he called Tricorp to ask if we were interested in sponsoring the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. You must have popped a bottle of champagne after that call? Of course — what do you think! Sponsoring a Formula 1 team is a huge compliment for a company like Tricorp. Formula 1 brings together everything we stand for. But it also is a big leap forward.
